BIOGRAPHY OF BISHOP BRUCE K. SHAW


Bishop Bruce K. Shaw is the pastor of New Hope Pentecostal Church located in the "Six Corners" area of Springfield, MA. He became pastor of this church on January 7, 2007, after his father, Bishop Marion E. Shaw, retired. Bishop Shaw held many positions within the church under the leadership of his father. In the Shaw household, service and faithfulness were requirements for every member and Bishop Shaw's first job was cleaning the church. From there, he went on to serve his local assembly's Sunday school department, was the choir director and the church administrator. He also served as a deacon before being called to the ministry.

Within the Connecticut District Council (CDC) he served as Treasurer for the Young People's Union. He also served as Chairman of the CDC for two consecutive terms. On the national level, he served as one of the Assistant Coordinators for the International Pentecostal Young People's Union (IPYPU) of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW). Presently, Bishop Shaw is a member of the Executive Board of Bishops, PAW, and a member of Aenon Bible College, Board of Directors, were he serves as the Executive Secretary.

Bishop Shaw faithfully served his country for 23 years in the Army National Guard retiring with the rank of Major. After retiring from the military, he taught at New Leadership Charter School and became the Director of the school for five years. Bishop Shaw is also active in his community. He serves on the following boards:

Member, Board of Directors, Food Bank of Western MA


Former Chairman, Rebuild Springfield Development Committee


In March of 2015, Bishop Shaw was elevated to the office of Bishop within the PAW organization. He was assigned to Episcopal District 62, Uganda District Council. In March of 2019, the PAW Board of Bishops, approved Bishop Shaw's transfer to Episcopal District 20, Connecticut District Council.


Bishop Shaw holds a M.A. in Biblical Studies from Grand Canyon University and a B.A. in Business Management from Anna Maria College. He is married to Virginia and they have two daughters, Monique and Ashley.
